Wine, Women, Song and SWAN Day

So, in roared March like the proverbial lion.  Here's hoping that we'll smell the sweet breath of spring by the time that lamb saunters by.

Wine, Women and Song

We've kept our March performance schedule light to rehearse for a special show at month's end when Fairfield Community Arts Center presents the final concert of their "Wine, Women and Song" series for this season, "Swing Canaries and Harmony Siblings."  We are so pleased to present the harmony tunes of the swing era along with some Western Swing and sister singing acts in a wonderful cabaret setting. Please join us for this fun event on March 28.  Songs start at 8 pm, but the wine part starts as early as 7 pm when the cash bar opens.

"Wine,Women and Song" provides intimate cabaret seating on stage and in the first several rows of their fabulous theatre for this series. Complimentary hors d'ouvres and a cash bar encourage a mingling nightclub atmosphere for these concerts which showcase renowned women artists. Our program will include the three-part harmonies of groups like the Andrews and McGuire Sisters alongside western swing from the Dinning Sisters and cowgirl tunes from groups like Girls of the Golden West. We'll sing some great standards from the big band era backed by our own folk trio accompaniment and share a few classic harmony tunes from our regular repertoire, including some Trio(Dolly, Emmylou and Linda) and even a few originals. We hope the atmosphere will invite you to kick back and enjoy a sing along kind of Friday night.

Good seats are still available at the $15 ticket price in rows A-H of the theatre. We would love to spend a Friday with you and your friends.  Just click here for tickets. See you March 28 at 8 pm for a little sentimental journey through some great songs and stories.

SWAN Day at Women Writing for a Change

Womensway of OH/KY is again collaborating with Women Writing for a Change to present a local SWAN Day event in Cincinnati. From 1-8 pm on March 30, the two women's organizations will celebrate women's music, poetry, film, comedy and visual art at the Plainfield Road location of WWfac.  Raison D'Etre will join Angela Minton and Ma Crow and the Lady Slippers to provide some original music for the day, For more information and a schedule of the events, check this website.

Spring is coming soon, right?  Until then…

Raise on!

And don't defer those tender, budding dreams!

They are always there under the snow, waiting to blossom.
