Summer Shows

Happy Summer, Raison Friends!

The Trio has a private gig scheduled for late July, so no big news for us. Except this is our 25th "birthday" month. In 1990, we finished up our several week stint on the Hoe Down Cruise for BB Riverboats and decided to take our front women trio to the Rose Family Reunion. There we sang some three-part harmony arrangements of the Forester Sisters, Karla Bonoff, Bruce Cockburn, a Roches' tune, and some Linda, Dolly and Emmy to begin our first year as the trio later named Raision D'Etre. We've been celebrating with some trivia questions and giveaways at our summer shows. So, we hope to see you at College Hill Coffee Company on August 8 for some more 25 Years, 25 Questions fun.  Win free merch(books, CDs, downloads) by answering a few questions about us.

3rd Friday Folk Concert in Somerset

Roberta will take her her solo set to Somerset on July 17 for the 3rd Friday Folk Concerts in the Carnegie Community Arts Center of Somerset, KY.  The concert starts at 7 pm with Maria McNeil. Roberta will follow with a set from her solo project, "One Small Step."  And Violet Rae has agreed to being her back-up singer and percussionist for the night. No, she didn't lose a bet. She's just being a good sister. Info for reserving your seat is in this flyer:

Berea's Festival of Learnshops

Roberta is happy to return to Berea on July 24 for two workshops on drumming for wellness. If you've always wanted to be part of a drum circle, this is your chance. Drums provided, no experience necessary.  Plus you get some take-home songs for using at a drum circle of your own.
