Deck the Halls! Light the Lights!

Another December rolls in, Raison friends!

We hope this busy month finds you close to the ones you love. We just have three shows this holiday season, and that's probably a good thing considering the projects all or some of us are involved in right now. Not to mention the many holiday gatherings, which I guess I just did.

Outposts on the Border of Longing Delayed

Roberta's first chapbook of poems from Finishing Line Press has not shipped due to some printer delays. So, if you pre-ordered the book and are wondering where it is, so is Roberta.  All kidding aside, the publisher tells us that it should be shipped before Christmas. And since Roberta has actually seen the galleys, that could very well happen. In the meantime, Womens Way of OH/KY  scheduled a salon at Women Writing for (a) Change to celebrate Outposts on the Border of Longing.  So, celebrate, we did. Many thanks to everyone who came. brought soup, snacks and wine for Roberta's first reading from her almost published book. The circle had an interesting discussion about the difference between songs and poems and the process of submitting one's work for publication.

If you pre-ordered the chapbook, and would like a free gift, Roberta will be glad to send a surprise your way. Just  e-mail  your mailing address to rls@raison3.com, and she will send you a thank you gift.

Kentucky Artisan Center at Berea

We are so happy to return to our favorite shopping destination on December 20 from 11 am-2 pm.  We will play three sets of music, including songs from our new CD, "So Dear"  and "Christmas Belles," for the Kentucky Artisan Center at Berea.  The Artisan Center is packed with Kentucky-crafted items year-round, but they really pull out the stops for the holidays. If you are headed home on I-75 on December 20, be sure to stop by and say hello. We intend to shop on our breaks.

Christmas Eve at Horizon Community Church

For the third year, we will carol at Horizon Community Church for Christmas Eve.  Even though the church features wonderfully performed music in each of their Christmas Eve services, they want everyone who attends to enjoy traditional carols as they gather for each service and as they mingle afterwards in fellowship.  If you are looking for a warm, inviting service to attend for Christmas Eve--or anytime-- check out the schedule at Horizon Community Church.

Singing Swinging New Year at Bethel Woods.

We'll be singing in the New Year a day early at Bethel Woods in Bethel, OH. At noon. Yes, the countdown will be at 12, all right.  But we will sing "Auld Lang Syne" at twelve NOON on December 30. So, if you frequent the Senior Center in Bethel, we look forward to wishing you a Happy 2015 in person. Fun starts at 11:30 am.

Twain by the Tale

Violet Rae and Roberta are busy practicing the pre-show and music cues for Falcon Theatre's and Campbell County Public Library's latest Signature Series collaboration, a review of Mark Twain's wit called Twain by the Tale.  The performance will take place January 16, 7 pm at the Newport Branch.  Tickets are free, but must be reserved at the CCPL site.  Get yours soon.  The last two collaborations have sold out.

If you can't make it out to any of these shows, you can always get one of our new CDs at CD Baby. Or keep up with what we're doing and thinking by "liking" our page on Facebook. There, you can talk back. We like that.

Happy holidays to you! Raise on!

And don't defer those December dreams…
